Yes, makes sense.. must go look....  OTOH, I guess it must have a removable
mount, otherwise how would the lens go together?

I am getting closer to that M8, now that  the used prices have "started" to
drop.....

The only lenses that Leica can code are those where the mounting  
plate can be removed and replaced. Check the mount on your Lux. If  
there are no screws in the mounting plate it can't be coded bu Leica.
