Does the latest Nikon D3X bare any resemblance to the first Nikon camera
(whatever it was)?

I don't hear anyone remotely suggesting that a D3X is not a NIKON.

Or a 5D Mark II isn't a CANON.

The close mindedness of Leica "purists" is really kind of sad.
