Subject: [Leica] Leica R lenses on Nikon bodies with the LeiTax bayonet

A few minutes ago I learned of a simple reversible conversion to Nikon F
mount for the 400mm and 560mm f/6.8 Telyts:

1) ask Don Goldberg (DAG Camera Repair) to make an adapter. Because of the
very short difference between the Leica-R and Nikon F mount register this
adapter would act like a short extension tube so you'd lose infinity focus.

2) unscrew the optical unit of the lens from the focussing unit and remove
the thick spacer ring. Re-install the optical unit and you get infinity
focus back on your Nikon.

To convert back to Leica-R, put the spacer back in and remove Don's
adapter. A minute or two at most.
