[Leica] Dehumanizing portraits?

Could it be that the subjects of these portraits have more compelling things 
to do these days than meet with a photographer to dial in a sitting?

And, could it be that the press simply wanted to put a face with a name and 
an area of responsibility -- sometime before the Obama's first term is over?
