2008 LUG YEAR BOOK!

Now that's a classic photography book if ever there was one!

Let's put aside all my yelling, ranting, haranguing, cajoling, name calling
for another 11 months first.

Thank you.

And I'll put away all the . "who the hell do you think you are telling us
what to do?" And what's the big deal anyway?" etc. Not to forget a few
others. :-) Be in lots of time and I'm as sweet as baby powder. :-)

Now having not said a word for a week or two about the book simply because
quite frankly in my personal library of books dating way back into the 20's
and forward. This 2008 year, the LUG book falls into the realm of a classic.

In a half century or more, this book will stand out as a classic because it
was produced, not by some big name publisher filled with so called "BIG
NAME" photographers pictures. But by a group of photo fun loving people just
for the enjoyment of it with a couple of their photos published in a book.

How many of you have gone back 30-40-60- years and looked at some of the
"YEAR BOOKS" of those bygone times, examining and comparing the photographic
image quality to the 2008? Hell there isn't any comparison. Never mind the
technical aspect! Damn we're pretty good all round! :-)

If I've gone through this book twenty times that's about half the number of
times, if not more looking, comparing page and picture to picture and page!
It's truly a wonderful collection of photos by my friends and LUG family
around the world. Most important? The names of "Lurkers!" :-)

Ladies and gentlemen, we are batting more than a 1000, if that's possible.
Because this is the best year book ever! You bet the others were very good
and interesting. However, over all quality is way up in every fashion,
photographs, reproductions and plain old fashion excellent pictures and
subjects page after page great quality.

And certainly not to forget our Group Leader, organizer, do all the work
putting it all together, our one and only best book guy in the world, who
else but our own Jim Schulman. Man with this gentleman and his pursuing,
pushing, begging, pleading and e-mails week after week.. "Please send in
your pictures!" The book would never have happened! Everyone in the book
thank your lucky starts this human being who cared enough to do everyone in
the book a great favour by giving of himself in such a dedicated manner for
our books' well being!

Jim old buddy can't offer more than the biggest "THANK YOU VERY MUCH MON
AMI!"

Now while I have your attention..... 2009 is already upon us and if we
should be so lucky and Jim takes on the task one more time, you only have 11
months, 11 days and a few hours to get your act together for the new book.

Make a folder on your desk top and as the months quickly slip by, drop your
LUG BOOK possibles in it. At the beginning of December 2009 check it out,
dump the not so great ones. "Really now you didn't think everyone was going
to be great did you?" :-)

Edit hard, pick two and "Jim's yer Uncle" you can send without hesitation.
Then you wont have to make me get ticked off because some of you are lazy
nogood-niks and always send them late while whining.

Look at your 2008 copy once again, sit quiet, possibly a glass of something
settling and pleasant in hand, relax and enjoy the 2008 one more time with
great reverence for our LUG Family and good buddy Jim Schulman.

An Honour to share the pages with each and everyone of you far and wide.

Cheers, see you in the 2009 pages shortly. :-)

Dr. ted
