Thank you George, Ric, Jim, Gene and Peter for your comments on my shot.

This is the first opportunity I have had to read my emails and respond 
to your comments...

Gene - fair point about the background.  Though I'm not sure what I 
could have done at the taking stage to avoid the problem unfortunately. 
  Had I waited any longer to take the shot, then I would have lost the 
light through the grass.

Peter, I used Aperture priority mode on the 20D and played around with 
the exposure compensation to make sure I had a shot with an acceptable 
histogram.

It was taken in the back garden.

I am really pleased that you liked the picture.  Thanks again for taking 
th trouble to look and comment.
