You shouldn't have any problems unless any of your connecting flights 
are one of the little cigar-tube jets.  Then you might have to 
gate-check a bag.  I carry one bag for laptop, book, things I might 
need on the flight and that fits under the seat and one camera 
backpack that fits in the overhead.
