Thanks to all for your amazing welcomes to me! So far I enjoy the List very
much. (I subscribed to the Digest.) The news about Franke & Heidecke makes
me want to throw up. I see it as yet another sign of the collapse of
classical Western culture. (Yes, I AM a committed and devoted pessimist.) I
bought my Leica II (1934, # 146223) from Tristan Ludwig
(ludwig481<http://myworld.ebay.com/ludwig4811?ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1181>;
see eBay item # 190285994380) and the 4/9cm lens (is this correct? - I am
still quite retarded) from Ed of Collectible Cameras, 1305 E Northern Ave,
Phoenix, AZ 85020 (see  www.collectiblecameras.com; phone 602-944-2112). I
am also a kinda "gearhead" and have an addictive personality. As I explained
to my wife, I NEEEEEEEED to fiddle with little gadgets on vintage cameras;
it keeps me from drinking (excessively) and smoking (at all) and keeps me
sane (quite often). Also, I am a violin maker (bad pun intended, no
apology). I love Tina's pictures; I have seen some before. (Tina, were/are
you on the Russian Rangefinders Users List?) Finally, I shall eventually
post some pics. To all, thanks again! - Jan van Rooyen.
