It has a crop factor of 2, so that a 50mm lens from a film SLR becomes a 100mm in terms of included angle of view. When I decided to get a prime lens for general use, I chose a Leitz Elmarit-R 2.8/28, because I wanted to get the benefit of real Leica glass. It provides me with the view of a 56mm normal lens, and provides great images. Because they are not that popular, I got mine at a very reasonable price.
