Subject: [Leica] LTM Elmarit 2.8/90mm lens hear removal

Hi, I have a late (Leica IIIg era) LTM Elmarit 2.8/90mm that I want to use
on my M6 with an M adapter (and some day on a IIIg), but I can't figure out
how to remove the lend head so I can clean the back of the rear element
(spotting) and also use the lens on a Novoflex bellows with a digital SLR.
According to my old Leitz lens brochures the 90mm lens head should unscrew
but all my efforts (within limits) to unscrew the head counterclockwise
holding onto the aperture ring (?) lead to nothing. Were there 2.8./90 mm
Elmarits that were NOT designed to unscrew the lens head?
Thanks,
Jan
