>>>not exactly sure why

but the word slum feels wrong

depending on the ethnicity

of some of our more impoverished areas

color may be called for

some areas of our hispanic community

are decorated with incredible murals,

bright doorways and architecture

same for Chinatown in Chicago<<<<,,,

Hi George,

Quite correct! And from experience I think it comes down to the moment of
shoot time which way it goes, "Colour or B&W?" I have gone on assignments
with a total concept of shooting only B&W. But upon arrival going into a
panic state, calling the film lady and having her send me 500 rolls of
colour like as fast as she can. When this happens it's called.. "BAD
PREPARATION & research for the assignment!" Trust me you only do this a
couple of times in a life span.

Today of course with digital it hardly matters with the instant ability to
go from colour to B&W in the click of the mouse!
