And while the USA intelligentsia discuss the ethics of altering the
colour of their President's swimming trunks, here in the UK, the Daily
Mirror* places the head of the Chancellor of the Exchequer** on the body
of Robin Hood

plus covering the story of Susan Boyle***, they place her head on
countless bodies in a "celebrity makeover" feature.

This from the land of the Picture Post and Sunday Times Magazine.

* the Daily Mirror along with the Sun are the UK's top newspapers, not
only in sales but also in writing ability. Amongst journalists this is
not controversial as the average reading age of the newspapers is that
of an 11 year old, and the journalists must learn to reduce national and
international events to easy sentences in very limited column space. IT
is easier for an intelligent educated journalist to express events in an
erudite manner to an educated audience, than to convey the news in words
of less than 3 syllables.

** the elected politician for England, Wales**** & Northern Ireland in
charge of the money and economy. Scotland "devolved" but I'm not sure
who's in charge since we have a Scot as Prime Minister.

*** a competitor in "Britain's got Talent who is physically unattractive
and yet has the most amazing singing voice and has started quite a few
discussions about why humanity associates beauty with ability.

**** Wales devolved too but then came back for a bit because they
couldn't sort themselves out.
