Thanks everyone for your comments.

Ric, I partially agree with you regarding the roots, but in the end I 
liked this better.

Howard, the brown/sepia colour was actually the way it came out of 
the camera; the filter is essentially an 87, so fairly dense and 
further into the infrared than most. It leads to some colour 
distortion depending on what the initial colours were. This afternoon 
I liked the variable tone; this evening I decided I liked it better 
as a neutral B&W and so have changed it.
