Subject: [Leica] How long is an M8 battery supposed to last ?

1. The only time I came close to exhausting mine (one bar left) I was  
chimping heavily and shooting in continuous mode; about 500 DNG.  
Depending on how much LCD time I use, it's about 150-250 shots before  
my battery loses the first bar. I charge it after that because a) it  
takes a long time to completely charge from flat and b) it's better  
not to deep-cycle lithium batteries if you want them to last. And  
with the price of spares...you definitely want it to last.

2. Just until the yellow LED goes out. I have two batteries - one I  
did all night, one I did until the yellow LED goes out, no difference.

3. Yes.

4. No, that's Ni-Cd. The M8's battery is lithium and has no memory  
effect.
