All I can say  is CS4 plays nice with 4 gigs of ram.   Lightroom too.

I bought CS4 to go with my little Lenovo, with 4 gigs.  I don't have
to go make coffee while the pictures load.

I usta start a scan, and go for a walk.   Now I say by the computer,
and get the job done.

There is an application for the I-phone that will let you control your
DSLR and see what it sees on your phone.  Now if they make Photoshop
CS5 Mobile we're in business.
