It works, in the sense that it will allow the taking of pictures 
without expensive small bits being created rendering the combo 
inoperative. Ie, no mechanical damage.

However, it will not meter, or at least not correctly. If you do want 
to shoot with it, guess the exposure, look at the histogram and 
adjust to taste.
