I have the curved field version on my 253 IR, and it works fine--so long as
the slides warm up!  It usually takes about half a magazine for the
temperature to get toasty enough.  

When you have the right optics and condenser, it's really amazing--a marked
improvement over my old Carousel (with supposedly premium optics).

Bill, I think the Colorpan expects glass mounted slides.  They made another
version that was a CF  or curved field that would do regular slides, if I
recall.   Kodak did that too.
