Doug,

Thanks for the great photo of one of my favorite birds.  I see them 
winter and summer here, both from my bike and from my skis.  It is 
amazing to see them jump off the ice and into the black water, only 
to reappear a little later and hop back on the ice where they bob up 
and down.  We often see their nests plastered on large rocks by the 
river when we raft.  The nest is a round mass of moss with a round 
hole in the middle and some white wash below.
