Thanks for your comments! 
I heard the announcer say that on some of their maneuvers the Blue Angels'
wing separation is 5 feet (might have been 3 but my hearing wasn't that
good). 
I saw Fat Albert do a couple of near 45 degree climbs without JATO,
unfortunately out of my range.
