Subject: [Leica] X-1 Response Time

I just took another look at the response times Sean Reid published.
Since they include his reaction time and he reports a pre-press
response time on the order of a quarter of a second, that means the
camera is responding essentially instantaneously in that mode.

Our personal response times vary but I read somewhere that they are
typically a few hundred milliseconds. Mine is about 330 mS, at the
long end of the scale, but then I'm getting to be an old codger.
Younger people are faster.

I measured mine with my M7 (camera response time about 10-15 mS) a few
years ago when I was trying to figure out why my then new Olympus C-60
was so slow to respond.

Focus time is a whole other issue, but from the looks of the data,
once you've got it, the decisive moment is yours!

Dick
