* I'll have a partial answer to this question in a few weeks when I  
get back my
new (to me) used Telyt 400 f6.8 with a leitax bayonet installed. It  
will be a
different focusing experience - push pull trombone focusing - compared  
to the
turning of the Nikkor - and I'll have to try it to see which I prefer.  
Jury is out.

*I have no first hand experience but I suspect the 280 Telyt would be  
the standard against which to
measure the other lens. Doug Herr has commented on this earlier.

*It certainly is my preferred platform - since a DMR is out of reach.
