Wendy, don't take it like that! I was just making an observation on a bias 
based on cultural relativism.
Besides, I'm quite familiar with this form of inter state and scientific 
activism.
My late father was an agricultural engineer, and a research bio-chemist.
He recounted a story once, of when we lived in France. He was once 
approached by the first president of Mali and members of his cabinet. He was 
asked to come to Mali and do a project similar to what the Israelis were 
doing.
Unfortunately, he couldn't account for our safety once we were in country.
That's just one story. 
Though the most horrific ones were the stories of fellow agronomists who 
would die mysteriously on location from the oddest accidents.
