everyone seems to agree that
that is the best first step.

i had one that arrived full of crap
which took all kinds of time and effort to clean off the sensor.
quality control on that particular, individual bulb was zilch.
or - someone at the mfg playing a practical joke.

don't remember which brand it was
as I immediately tossed it, it's package and all related material
into the trash with an expletive.
