I think the conversion is important and the lines should be redrawn 
in the digital-age, so comparisons with antiquated processes are 
interesting but not appropriate.  Really what was missing from the 
image was a good photographer in the sense that he probably shot 500 
haphazard images from an outsiders perspective not able to get close 
enough and then tried to figure out later how to get a good photograph.
