Thanks, Ric and Bob,

that desaturate trick works a treat!   Really impressed with the  
result, but using that magnetic lasso is not the easiest
tool to use, especially as the problem is usually on clothing with  
hair and other things overlapping.

Bob, I took your suggestion to prevent the problem arising again, and  
have ordered a 52mm IR cut filter (Marumi) to
stay put on my 35mm Nokton, and a 39mm filter to put on my Leica  
lenses when I use them indoors.
