Under those circumstances;
long before it got ugly;
I'd introduce myself;
ask his or her name;
and ask for a business card.
Give him or her one of my own cards.
Ask the them some reasonable questions.
Talk about photography.
Offer some information about myself
and any possible concerns I may have.

What happened to civility
and neighborly exchange of information?
