Subject: [Leica] Question 2 this evening: historical prices

Lluis,

I was still shooting with a Leica IIIa and 50mm Elmar that I bought used for 
about half those prices in 1952, and I certainly could not afford the new M 
3.  I suspect that the M 3 with Summarit cost about half the price of a new 
Ford or Chevrolet at that time.  Seems comparable to the relative price of a 
M9 and a good lens today.
