There's an interesting photo book by a NYC taxi driver who shot from the
cab, using a Yashica T4 and Tri-X.  The photographer/driver is David
Bradford and the book is titled "Drive-By Shootings."  It was published in
Germany (Konemann 2005) so it might be hard to come by over here.  I think I
found mine online.  I was surprised by the range of his vision, going from
passenger portraits to cityscapes on the fly.  All kind of cool and gritty.
