When I was in Krakow in Dec 09 with some old schoolmates of 40 years ago, we 
did an organised "communist" tour of the city in them and then got to drive 
one ourselves. Nippy enough off the mark (up to about 30mph!) and with a 
great noise that reminded me of a 60s DKW that I also drove in the early 
70s. I think they were rallied even but amn't certain. I do remember the 
other east german marque Wartburg being rallied.
