Ansel went on and on often about leaving his work to prosperity so they can
be printed with other people with "laser beams" and the viability of these
actions.
Other people destroy their negs to the value of their body of work goes up
Not Ansel. Who is my kinda guy.
He was very aware and wanted others too also be aware that technology moves
on and that the silver gelatin print will not always be the dominant
process.
And that he himself will not always be the one in charge of the printing of
his negs. ...having experienced the printing of dozens of his books.
... Makes one a bit more philosophical.

It's entirely possible that somebody will make a print from an Ansel neg
someday in the near future or its happened already and it might be a pigment
inject on 100% rag paper or it might be some other thing just around the
bend they've not released on us yet. A hologram floating a foot over our
kitchen table with added smell or rama.
And the burn and dodge points would not have been exactly
Ansel's by a long shot.
But the print might be more successive than any Ansel pulled or had his
various assistance pull in his darkroom.
Its not going to make Ansel roll over in his grave.
But might make his inheritors do so in their beds.
Inheritance is tricky. Then you die. Or the other way around.

But the box of glass plates sound fishy to me.
