The camera on the 4 is really far superior to the one on the 3Gs.  If you're 
really careful with your light you can actually take a decent photo with it. 
The f-stop seems to be fixed at 2.8 and it varies the shutter speed and ISO 
to make an exposure, so if you're careful with the light, you can keep it 
from cranking the iso. of course, all this goes out the window when you're 
shooting "in the field" like this -- but i think the real thing is bringing 
home a photo. the grain is the second thing to worry about.
