A deal may have been reached.

I bid on a Digilux but swiftly received a counter offer from an attorney
representing "a concerned group" who explained if that if I would cease this
pursuit of a Leica and promise not to represent myself as "a photographer
who uses Leica gear, at all, ever" they would offer me a sum of money and
some gear of a competitor. I replied "go jump in a lake, I only use Leica
gear!" at which point two gentlemen appeared at my door. I recognized them
after a moment as Jesse "the Body" Ventura and Alex Trebeck. They wrestled
me into a bag and drove me to a barn where I heard a few men speaking in
German -- the only words I remember were repeated again and again as they
poured freezing cold water over me: "Viel Gem?se ist ver?rgert.
Winkelst?ckenergie. Fischha?t?rkn?ufe!"

When it became woefully apparent that they spoke no English and I spoke no
German, they took me out of the bag and pantomimed what I think was the plot
of the pilot for Father Knows Best but I wasn't sure. After a while they
handed me a Digilux while at the same time distributing a powerful electric
shock. Every time I touched the camera, the same thing happened; electricity
would shoot through my body and the men would shout: "Langsamer Toastermann.
Feiern Sie! Langsamer Toastermann. Feiern Sie!" They got really worked up.
But I couldn't stop picking up the shiny shiny beautiful Leica. This went on
for a long time.

Eventually they gave up and dropped me off in the park.

I called the guy who's Leica I'd bid on and he said he'd put it in a box and
ship it out.

So. In the near future, I will most likely have new Leica photos for you!!!!!
