Hi Tina,
Exactly! We use Leica M's because they're quiet and unobtrusive. The moment
you click one off with flash your anonymity is gone.

All the images for my medical books are Tri-x @ ASA 800! I shot 500 rolls on
"Women in Medicine. A Celebration of Their Work" using 3 M7's and a couple
of R8's. Every exposure is "Look through viewfinder and what the camera
picked as a shutter speed I went click!" If any have doubts buy the books
and see for yourself!

Actually you can go to my web site and look at the medical folder.
tedgrantphoto.com And see a very small selection.

The same for the other medical book "This is Our Work. The Legacy of Sir
William Osler." Only the 3 M cameras were M6. No flash, period. All shot by
what you see is what you use! I can't imagine using flash in the OR as
every time you click it would be an explosion of flashing light, eventually
being thrown out due to being a visual annoyance!

I stand by what I've said for years... "If you can see it. You can shoot
it!" These two books alone prove my point very effectively. And many on list
have purchased copies of both.

If you're shooting family happy snaps I don't care if you blast away with a
dozen flashes, or set-up strobes on stands using a gazillion watts of light
power! I'm talking about recording real life on assignments for a client and
or wherever you require to be as invisible as possible.
Home happy snaps? Like who cares if you use flash. But you can still shoot
the bulk of it without flash... Notice "the bulk of it!" Not all of it!
cheers,
Dr. ted
