My dmr als is set for no review, it saves juice quite well.  I do use the 
motor for winding though.  But manual winding would also extend the battery 
life.

A couple of dmr battery saving tricks are to set it to turn off the display, 
with no after shot review, and to manually wind the shutter by holding the 
wind lever in the stand-off position to deactivate the motor.  The display 
and motor seem to consume a lot of the battery.  Basically, shoot like a 
manual wind film camera!

I would like to hear anyone else's battery tips, too.

BTW, last week I found possibly the last new dmr battery in the US (at 
$225)!!!!!!!
