Hi Merrill,
I must have had a senior moment - I meant 24-105mm lens, which also a 
bit of a beast, though that too performs pretty well.  I have an Optech 
strap which helps distribute the weight of the camera/lens much better 
than the OEM strap .    Sadly, the recent weather and lack of light have 
meant I haven't given the camera/lens a really good thrashing yet.  The 
5D2/24-105 lens is certainly much heavier than the M8 and prime lens, 
but at least now my canon lenses have the 'correct' field of view.
