I believe the optical elements are cemented inside the housing. 
I read somewhere that between DAG and John Van Stelten, the success
rate of cleaning the finders that were cemented then rebuilding them was
alarmingly low. Not something like 20% but a failure rate of maybe 1 in
10 or more. Still a large number of non-repairables. That is just
hearsay though from the internet (so you know it has to be true... ;) )
