Subject: [Leica] IMG: Sunday Heron

My grandpa (not the one I have photos of on my website, my other grandpa)
used to own a lake cottage where we would go fishing. Herons used to wade
around the shallow areas of the lake all the time. Once, I saw one grab a
gigantic Bluegill. It was HUGE, about 8 inches long and 5 inches tall. A
heron's neck is skinny, about 3 inches thick. The bird carried the fish onto
the shore and swallowed it. The bluegill made a bulge sliding down the
heron's neck. It had barely disappeared into the bird's body when the
heron's head darted down to the ground and grabbed a fat bullfrog!
