If you live and/or work in New York and aspire to do commercial or illustrative work this is a worthwhile show to be in. It is seen by a lot of art directors and people with checkbooks. On the other hand, if you are a photo journalist, a fine art photographer, or a street photographer, fuggadaboudit (as they say in New Jersey). For information go to: pdncuratorawards.com The entry fee is $35 an image and you can submit as many as you want. The fee is not high for artwork submission in the New York area, particularly if prizes are offered. My wife routinely pays as much to enter paintings in regional art shows. On the other hand it is just shy of being a confidence racket. There are thousands of images entered and a mere pittance in prize money. You actually have a better chance of winning the lottery than of winning a prize in the PDN show. Still many of the pictures posted on the LUG are as good as, or better than, the Curator show entries posted on their web site. Larry Z
