Yes, the M9 gives a lot of leeway to crop. In fact, I maintain that is one
of the defining characteristics of the M - in the film days, by utilizing
some of the best lens, one can be more loose in composition and not worry
about the impreciseness of the viewfinder by cropping if needed. The M9 does
allow this flexibility again (within limits).
