Horseshoe Meadow is actually about a half mile beyond our New Army
Pass trail head. But that radical zig-zag road up the side of the
hill is the one we use. It takes us from 4000 feet to 9500 feet about
as quickly as any road I know of.

There are excellent views of the Owes Valley and the Eastern Sierra
from turnouts.

It was a full glider -- the type that is towed by a plane to get
airborne. The pilot was the only person in the plane. One bystander
said his oxygen bottle was empty, so the speculation was that he got
too high and passed out.

Keep up the good work. Your Alpa is giving me pixel envy.
