survived a massive accident in a 1984 caprice classic.
nothing like STEEL!
:-)
speaking of crown vics all police departments have ordered new ones this
year as they are going out of production.
so if you look around you can get a lightly used police interceptor for a
good price!

Neither. I'd get a newer version of the car I have now, which is a 98 Ford
Crown Victoria! I hate SUVs. The only people who drive them here are
assholes who think they're rich (most aren't) and think that driving an SUV
makes them above having to obey traffic laws. Small cars scare me. You get
hit by an asshole in an SUV who thinks that stop signs don't apply to them
and you're DEAD. I've hit a few of these guys after they ran stop signs or
red lights in the two Chevy Caprices I had before I got my Crown Vic, and my
cars were barely damaged. Indestructible is good. Bigass cars like the Crown
Vic and Caprice also ride very soft and smooth, very comfortable for long
trips. I drive a Ford Explorer across the country once several yrs ago.
Rented it to transport some stuff to Santa Fe and my back hurt like hell the
whole time. Never again!

My car gets 18mpg, which is not bad for a 5000lb car! The money spent on gas
is worth it to avoid death at the hands of some fool. People where I live
are all too damned stupid to drive. I've had 14 car accidents in Ft. Wayne
and only ONE was my fault (Two more involved deer jumping at the car...the
rest of the wrecks were idiots running red lights or pulling out in front of
me on busy roads).
