Subject: [Leica] OT: Which car to buy...

I drive a BMW Z3 Coupe, not a soft top, but a cool fun drive. Otherwise it
is a Caddy CTS, Audi A6. My wife drives a Jeep Commander, a Tank of a 4wd
with lots of room. No, not rich, bought all used and one was a fixer upper.

I thought a Miata would be a great little car.... and then I tried to drive
one.? There is no possible seating position for a driver my size (5'10") in
which the top bar of the windshield is not directly in front of me.? The
most comfortable positions put it right at eye level; the BEST I could
finally get had it blocking my view of signal lights in the midrange - right
where I'd need to be able to see them to commit for an intersection.

Wouldn't mind having one on a track where there are no lights, but on the
street - nope.

Personally given your choices I'd go a few years further back if necessary
and get another 4Runner.... but I second the Toyota endorsement.? Current
wheels here are a low-mileage 93 2wd 4Runner - and for a Toyota of that age
"low mileage" is anything under 250K.? (mine's 150K, just barely broken in;
I get 18 mpg around town and 27 or so highway when traffic lets me.)
