Gee, Marty, I hadn't seen that one for a while. :)

Yes -- I found the out of focus rendition wide-open painful enough that I
eventually saved up for a 50 'lux to get my extra stop and sold the 40mm
on. I've got a few others on Flickr from the lens here:

If you don't mind the bokeh, then it's small and fast, takes 43mm filters
and seemed solid enough to me, built like most of the other modern CV
lenses.
