If you read my original post, it's something I "want" but didn't think
Leica would do. It's too much work for too little benefits for their
perceived audience. As I said, they will probably do Live view and video.

The new "M" does have a LED illuminated framelines.

So the M-E, being a successor to M-9 and without liveview/video, is
arguable the true successor to the original M.

The new "M" is more like the M5, or really a M-nextgen. That 100 grams will
make some Leica users complain....
