Subject: [Leica] Is macro at 35mm focal length sensible?

I believe the legendry Zeiss for Contarex 35mm lens was an f4. The Distagon
4/35mm.
In some ways sure its harder to focus a wide on a groundglass if its slow.
On the other hand by the fact that it is a wide makes for more depth of
field even wide open and precise focusing a tad less necessary.

I'm a big fan of not jacking up the cost and size of optics to fit marketing
peoples idea of what will sell. What sells to me can easily be a slow sharp
as hell compact light weight thimble of a lens.
