I'm wondering what it is. Perhaps one of those French turboprops like the 
one that went down in NY state about 10 years ago?

We flew Dolomiti Airlines from Munich to Genoa and back again.  On the
flight out, the stewardess would not let me take photos out of the window
for security reasons!  I couldn't even hold my camera on my lap.  On the
way back, they had no objections at all so I took photos the whole way.  I
loved the way the propeller stopped at 1/1500 of a second.
