I tested my D800E against the M9 when I first got it. Tripod mounted shots,
the 35mm Summilux asph FLE at f2.0 was better than the Zeiss ZF.2 35mm f2.0
at f5.6! Noctilux was preferable to 50mm f1.2 AIS but the Nikon put up a
credible performance.

I showed the shots to a pro friend who had just got a D800E with Zeiss (he
moved from Canon with same ZF.2 lenses) and was raving about it, he is now
saving for a Leica ;-)

The best Nikon 50 and the (new Tamron stabilised) 24-70 I have look OK...
until the next frame on my monitor that was shot with modern Leica M glass.
The difference makes me weep. I think I'll sell the house and some kidneys
and just get the new S.

Cheers,
Geoff
