I would not be "worried" if that is what happened.

M9 formatted card has L1*** shots in 100LEICA folder, put in MM and it
creates a 200LEICA folder with L2*** shots - no problem

MM formatted card has L2*** shots in the 200LEICA folder, put in M9 and it
continues the L2*** numbering rather than creating a 100LEICA folder with
L1*** numbering - probability of getting image number duplicates

The same thing happens when I put one of my Nikon D700 cards into a D4, it
creates a separate folder. I would guess this happens with Canons also? I
would say this is a normal thing and nothing to be worried about.

Cheers,
Gene

I am doing a few tests and swapped a Monochrom formatted card into the M9.
My Monochrom is set to number L2***** and creates a 200LEICA folder. If I
put an M9 formatted card in (100LEICA folder) it creates its own folder and
continues numbering. I have just put a Monochrom formatted card into the M9,
the M9 continue the L2**** numbering in the 200LEICA folder....
