Ouch.

I believe a quick phone call to Leica NJ is in order.  I think I remember
there is a one year warranty on repairs but if only just past a year they
still might accommodate you.

Even if CLAs carry no warranty you need to talk to them to discover your
options.

IIRC a woman named Sarah in the service dept has been very helpful in the
past, but it has been a while (know on lots of wood) since I have talked to
her/them.
