I know you can do that with a zoom but IMO most people don't ;-) I guess it reduces my options (other than lens speed) and, on familiar ground, I do not see that as a bad thing. Of course when I was away recently I had two cameras and six lenses with me much of the time, but the bulk of my images were MM/50mm and M9/28mm... This is not the same as professional work where you must get a shot so the versatility of a zoom is required, there again I am not really one for AF either, my D800E has not had an autofocus lens on it yet! john -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+john=chiaroscuro.co.nz at leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+john=chiaroscuro.co.nz at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Ric Carter Sent: Sunday, 4 November 2012 9:10 a.m. To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] NZ PAW 44 i don't disagree, but am curious as to why ric On Nov 3, 2012, at 3:58 PM, John McMaster <john at mcmaster.co.nz> wrote: > I much prefer discrete focal lengths (28/35/50 this week) to zooms ;-)
